Dr. Chris Smith, Senior Chemist at AHS, will be presenting:
“Four Years Working the San Juan Basin & Four Corners Platform — What Analyzing Volatile Subsurface Fluids in Cuttings and Cores Taught Us About the Mesozoic and Paleozoic Plumbing and Seals for Petroleum System Analysis and Carbon Capture and Storage.”
This presentation will share findings about migration pathways, seals, hydrocarbon sourcing, and the implications of these among others on carbon capture and storage (CCS) projects in the region derived from the analysis of subsurface volatile fluids present in fresh and legacy cuttings and core. As always thank you to our friends and colleagues who we have worked with on this great study, especially @William Amphoma, @Dana Ulmer-Scholle, @ Sia Wang, and @Luke Martin. Many thanks to @Phil Pearthree for this opportunity to share our work with the geological community in Arizona.
Schedule:
• Social Hour: 5:30 – 6:20 PM MST
(Sandwiches provided by Beyond Bread)
• Presentation Begins: 6:25 PM MST
AHS is proud to continue contributing high-quality subsurface research to the geological community and looks forward to connecting with colleagues across the Southwest.
